Privacy Policy

The short version

Anime Spotle has no accounts, no ads, and no tracking scripts. We store only what the game needs to remember your daily progress and to keep the service running.

What we store

• A player cookie. A random ID in a secure, HTTP-only cookie named as_pid. It links you to your rounds so you can leave and come back. It lasts one year and contains nothing about you.
• Your rounds. Your guesses, the hints you picked, and whether you solved each daily anime, tied to the random player ID.
• A hashed network address. To limit abuse, we keep a one-way hash of your IP address for short-lived rate limits. We do not store the raw address.

Third-party content

Posters load from the MyAnimeList image servers, and details on the answer card load from Jikan, a public MyAnimeList API. Trailers are YouTube videos in privacy-enhanced mode and only load when you press play. Those services receive your browser’s normal request data under their own privacy policies.

What we never do

We do not sell data, build advertising profiles, or share your rounds with anyone.

Your choices

Clearing this site’s cookies removes the link between you and your past rounds. The game still works; it simply starts fresh.
